Just thought I'd put up one of several new posters I just got in. These are in preparation for an upcoming art show I have this December. Also putting some updated features on my "snow camera" in the comfortable fall temperatures. Better to fiddle around now before it gets to be 15 below!

We were driving down a back country road when my wife noticed bassett hounds running around someones yard. We slowed down to see them in a very picturesque setting. I went back to get a picture to paint from, but the bassetts were inside. This was the scene without the dogs. I'll check to see if we can catch the hounds again!

10 x 18  Farmall on Depot Hill
I'm Still stuck in the tractor mode and thought I'd try a different approach. Starting with a photo from this spring, I screen printed the shadow areas and used water colors to fill in the details. Now that I have tractors out of my system I'm reviewing some new cow photographs for the next project.

Here is a short glimpse into our world of letterpress printing. Making the video was fun... but nothing is as much fun as letterpress! Now it's back to the studio to work on the next print job! http://www.youtube.com/user/MilestonePress

Lino Cut 7 x 9

Time for a little experimentation using our big MV-50 cylinder letterpress to print a handcut linoleum block.
The image came from a photo I took just a few miles from my house. The old farmall tractor was parked in front of and old barn and, although it's a little on the texturally complex side, I was happy with the print. It's been quite a while since I've done any lino cuts.
The cut is inked by hand to print a small edition of 15 pieces and the press cycled for each print.

The paper is Cranes Lettra cotton which takes our oil base ink very nicely even without wetting the paper.
